Apple: Joyful Perspectives

We don’t need to travel to make travel photography.  There are beautiful places, fascinating characters and engaging stories everywhere, even in our own backyards. And that now more than ever — when we are unable to go abroad to experience exciting foreign destinations — we have the opportunity to be tourists in our own cities.

Inspired by the Joyful Perspectives series by Today at Apple, I’ve been rediscovering my hometown of Singapore through the lens of my iPhone.  And with the help of my long-time creative collaborator, Mike Rogers of Persistent Productions, I made this short film — shot entirely on the iPhone 12 Pro Max — that challenged me to explore my familiar surroundings with a keen eye.

And, as part of Apple’s Chinese New Year celebrations, I am leading a virtual photography workshop designed to educate and inspire participants to reframe their everyday using iPhone.
