ARCHITECTURE + DESIGN
My recent work for Louis Vuitton in Manila captured the Travels with Grace Coddington collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Manila. The whimsical capsule — born from the creative dialogue between Louis Vuitton and the legendary fashion editor — celebrates the spirit of travel through Grace Coddington’s singular lens.
Inspired by her lifelong love of cats, Grace reimagined Louis Vuitton’s travel heritage with feline muses Blondie, Blanket and Jimi. Their illustrated adventures — from seaside escapes to interstellar journeys — adorn silk separates, cotton pyjamas and vintage-inspired trunks in playful contrast to the brand’s timeless craftsmanship.
The Manila exhibition, held from 23-25 September 2025, brought the collaboration to life inside the Met Museum’s minimalist galleries. There, foldable nylon Keepalls and linen-cotton Vintage Canvas pieces were displayed like objets d’art, their charm amplified by Grace’s hand-drawn cat motifs.
As Vogue Philippines observed, the event balanced whimsy with refinement, even featuring framed portraits of adoptable cats that tied the collection’s narrative to a heartfelt cause.
LV’s collaboration with Grace Coddington is a rare meeting of wit and craft — and photographing it in Manila was a reminder that travel, like creativity, thrives on curiosity.
