The Circle of Excellence Awards program recognizes
outstanding work in advancement services, alumni relations,
communications, fundraising and marketing at
CASE member institutions worldwide.
I received some exciting news earlier this week from Vanessa Spier, the Director of Strategic Communications at Singapore American School (SAS): her team submitted some of our ‘SOAR’ photographs to the 2017 Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Circle of Excellence Awards — and our ‘Collaborate. Calculate. Soar.’ photograph, featuring Grade 12 student Ishaan Madan, was awarded a Silver Medal for individual photography.
“The Circle of Excellence Awards program recognizes outstanding work in advancement services, alumni relations, communications, fundraising and marketing at CASE member institutions worldwide. They are judged by peer professionals at schools, colleges and universities as well as by professionals from outside education. [And] winners are selected based on a number of factors, including overall quality, innovation, use of resources and the impact on the institution or its external and internal communities, such as alumni, parents, students and faculty and staff.”
More than 715 higher education institutions, independent schools, and nonprofits worldwide submitted more than 3,364 entries for consideration for the CASE Awards — and I understand from Vanessa that typically it’s only top-tier universities that receive such awards — so it’s quite exciting for a single independent school such as SAS to earn any mention.
Both the Singapore American School and I are thrilled to be recognized in such a prestigious competition — and even more excited to have yet another avenue to highlight the fantastic work of SAS students and faculty.
See the ‘SOAR 1.0‘ (2014/15), ‘SOAR 2.0‘ (2015/16) and ‘SOAR 3.0‘ (2016/17) print campaigns. And read more about my close creative partnership with SAS in their quarterly community and alumni magazine, Journeys.
