The consummate bachelor Derek Ramsay
has finally decided to settle down, and
with this comes an exciting new script
encompassing family and a passion
for the environment.

In late-May I escaped briefly the confines of frenetic Manila and traveled 90 minutes outside the city to The Farm at San Benito, a luxurious health resort and healing sanctuary, to photograph British-Filipino actor, model, host and athlete Derek Ramsay for the July 2021 Tatler Philippines cover story in partnership with Land Rover.

This was my first shoot since relocating to the Philippines from Singapore this past April and what a fantastic welcome it was; I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity, a better title or a better subject with whom to work.

And although (of course) the shoot was excellent, it was actually the couple of hours that I spent at lunch with Derek — while he was being interviewed by writer Stephanie Zubiri — that was the most memorable part of the day.  I really enjoyed listening to Derek’s thoughts and insights and learning about his life, his experiences, his country and his love of family, travel, adventure, philanthropy and the environment.
