    All The News That&#39s Fit To Print

    I've been a little slack (alright, A LOT slack) in posting my eNewsletters here on my blog this past year.  That isn't to say that my creative partners and I haven't been busy with some extremely exciting assignments around the globe over the past twelve months.


    eNewsletter #12 featured an Around The World With Voyager highlight reel and a showcase of all the portrait photography I made throughout the duration of the six month television production.  It also included links to editorial work that I created for Land Rover in Singapore and some of my personal Myanmar iPhoneography.


    The beautiful Ukrainian supermodel, Alla Kostromichova, graced the cover of eNewsletter #13 with a photograph from a fashion shoot that we did together for Condé Nast Traveller (Russia) at the gorgeous Song Saa Resort in Cambodia.  Additionally, commercial work I photographed to support Johnnie Walker's sponsorship of the McLaren-Mercedes Formula One team -- both for their Join The Pact responsible drinking initiative and Circuit Lounge private F1 event -- and luxury lifestyle imagery I made for the grand opening of the InterContinental Osaka were included in this missive.


    And, just last month, I rolled-out eNewsletter #14, my first ever "Video Issue" featuring exclusively the branded film-

    based content my long-time creative partner, Mike Rogers, and I have made during the past few months.  This included a trio of films we shot in Bhutan for a Nikon global product launch, a pair of SanDisk videos we filmed while crossing Cambodia and a series of short movies for an international Clear Shampoo beauty campaign.

    Once again, with the assistance of my partners Licheng and Andy, late last week Issue #11 of my SCOTT eNewsletter rolled off our virtual press and landed in thousands of inboxes around the world.


    Headlining this edition was Around The World With Voyager, the travel and photography television series I am currently hosting on The HISTORY Channel.


    I also chose to share "DJ Me", an international advertising campaign I photographed for Pioneer Asia-Pacific featuring three beautiful models and two beautiful automobiles: a 1969 Mercedes-Benz 200 and a brand new Maserati GranTurismo.


    Finally, I included the fashion feature I shot for the cover of the 5th Anniversary edition of Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia at the stunning W Hotel Sentosa Cove.

    Perfect 10

    Once again, with the assistance of my friends Licheng and Andy, late last week Issue #10 of my SCOTT eNewsletter rolled off our virtual press and landed in thousands of inboxes around the world.


    Headlining this edition was photography I captured for Nikon Asia of American folk and roots musician, Ben Taylor (son of famous musicians James Taylor and Carly Simon), on Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.  Together with my creative partners, Mike Rogers and Meghan Shea, we spent three remarkable days with Ben at his home, visiting his studio where he shared with us the sources of his creative inspiration and his songwriting process.  In addition to this imagery is a behind-the-scenes video that Mike made to compliment the Nikon campaign.


    I also chose to share a daily photographic journal that Meghan and I created when we spent a week documenting our friend, Sam McGoun, as he swam, cycled and ran more than 670km across Cambodia to raise awareness of, and help to fight against, human trafficking.  As the documentary photograph- and film-making team tasked with chronicling Sam’s odyssey, we did our best to keep pace with him as he dove into snake-filled lakes, crossed muddy rivers, ran through small villages and pedaled

    across the countryside of rural Cambodia on his way to raising more than USD$30,000 for charity.  Together with Mike, we also created a short making-of video of our Cambodian adventure.


    Finally, I included a collection of personal iPhoneography I made while on holiday in Canada with my young nieces this past summer.  This work is both a visual diary of the times we shared and an observation on the ephemerality of childhood, rendered how I chose to witness our moments together  -- inquisitively, spontaneously and lovingly -- through the tiny lens of my iPhone camera.

    From a fashion advertising campaign for online fashion retailer Gnossem shot high above the Singapore skyline, to an advertisement for MasterCard made onboard a private jet to luxury travel and lifestyle features photographed in Singapore (VOGUE), Malaysia (WISH) and Cambodia (American Express Centurion), I've been very fortunate to create a wide variety of work over the past few months.

    This issue was a long time in-the-making, but it was worth all the hard work.  It features four new photographic collections, including: a fantastical fashion project I photographed in collaboration with an amazing team of creative partners, a series of candid black and white portraits of Tiger Woods, and a collection of luxury lifestyle and travel reportage I made in Cambodia for The Telegraph's Ultratravel (UK) and Condé Nast Traveller (Russia) magazines.

    Featuring my latest fashion photography for Thailand's Dusit Hotel & Resorts' Ei8ht magazine, reportage I made of the World Wildlife Fund's Elephant Flying Squad in the Sumatran rainforest and a regional advertising campaign I shot for GlaxoSmithKline, Issue #5 of my SCOTT eNewsletter was launched a couple of weeks ago.


    This issue was a particularly enjoyable one to compile and distribute, as it provided me an opportunity to share a very broad selection of my work by showcasing my different creative photography styles.

    This edition of my eNewsletter features links to a handful my most recent photographic work, including backstage images from Voyage de la Vie theatrical circus, a Q&A and slideshow from Invisible Photographer Asia, a fashion feature for Park Hotel Group and a portrait series of chefs, servers and personalities captured at many of Singapore's most popular bars and restaurants.

    All the News That&#39s Fit to Print

    With the year winding down, and lots of fun and exciting work to share from the past few months -- National Geographic Magazine (China), GEOspecial, American Express Centurion and Adobe Photoshop.com -- we figured it was time to roll-out Issue #3 of the the SCOTT eNewsletter, our final installment of 2010.


    Inspired by magazine covers, but with added hyperlink functionality to my photography online, this electronic direct marketing tool has been among the best things I added to my communications strategy this year.


    This regular eNewsletter has been an excellent way for me to stay in touch with my large network of editors and creatives around the world, and a fantastic tool for sharing with them every few months my recent photographic endeavours and my most creative collaborations.

    A Legend, A Cause, and Karma

    Yesterday we rolled out Issue #2 of the SCOTT eNewsletter, featuring some of my latest work, including photography of Hollywood icon Oliver Stone captured in Singapore, photo reportage from The Chain Reaction Project's latest philanthropic endeavour in Timor-Leste, and Karma Life Yoga's advertising campaign shot in Shanghai.


    Inspired by the covers of the countless magazines scattered around my studio, this HTML-coded electronic direct marketing initiative is my way of sharing links to my latest and most exciting photographic adventures.


    Issue #1 was distributed at the end of July.

    It's Alive

    It's been a long week -- a little rocky in parts -- but my friend and designing/programming guru Licheng managed to pull it all together late last Thursday night. This blog, along with my brand new website, officially went "live" early Friday morning with the launch of the SCOTT eNewsletter.


    This HTML-coded electronic direct marketing piece, inspired by the covers of the magazines littering my studio, was also the brainchild of Licheng.  It will be created and distributed every couple of months to keep people updated on a handful of the more interesting and creative projects that I have been part of.
